Translation by Bhikkhuni Uppalavanna

I heard thus. At one time the Blessed One was living in the squirrels' sanctuary in the bamboo grove in Rajagaha.

When the night was waning, Dighalatti the son of gods illuminating the whole of the bamboo grove approached the Blessed One, worshipped, stood on a side and said this stanza:

"The bhikkhu concentrates with a released mind ,
If he desires the accomplishment of the heart,
Knowing the rising and falling in the world,
With a good mind, he does not cling to the results."
